Title: ●Great Lakes Pilotage Modernization
Abstract:

The Coast Guard is proposing to amend certain Great Lakes Pilotage regulatory requirements to align with current Coast Guard and U.S. pilot association operations and pilotage practices. This proposed rule would clarify the different phases of training and registrations for pilots who work on the Great Lakes. Coast Guard would also propose to align medical requirements and radar observer training requirements for pilots with existing Merchant Mariners Credential regulations in 46 CFR parts 10-15. The proposed rule would also clarify both the pilot reporting requirements for marine accidents and the pilotage billing dispute process.
