Title: Amendment to Vessel Repair Regulations
Abstract:

This rule amends regulations pertaining to the timeline for submission of certain documents to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for vessel entry.  This documentation includes evidence of the cost of vessel repair and applications for relief from vessel repair duties. The amendment will extend the timeline from 90 days to 150 days and eliminate the provisions allowing for filing extensions which grant an additional 60 days for filing. The changes will streamline the vessel entry process. This rule is consistent with Executive Order 14058, which directs agencies to take actions that improve service delivery and customer experience by decreasing administrative burdens, enhancing transparency, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of government.
