Title: Energy Conservation Standards for General Service Fluorescent Lamps | |
Abstract:
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is required to review its standards for general service fluorescent lamps (GSFLs) once every six years under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended, to determine whether these standards should be amended. DOE has tentatively determined that the current energy conservation standards for GSFLs do not need to be amended. DOE had initially considered amended standards for incandescent reflector lamps (IRLs), a type of general service lamp (GSL), as part of this rulemaking. However, because IRLs cannot meet the recently adopted backstop standard for GSLs, DOE has decided to no longer evaluate amended standards for IRLs and is only considering GSFLs going forward. |
