Title: ●Amendment to Update Office Title Associated With the Department of Energy Realignment | |
Abstract:
In February 2022, the U.S. Department of Energy conducted an organization realignment to ensure the Department has the structure needed to effectively implement the clean energy investments in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Energy Act of 2020. As a result of the realignment, the position title of the Associate Undersecretary for Environment, Health, Safety & Security was changed to Director, Office of Environment, Health, Safety & Security. The Department plans on administratively updating the position title in the following regulations: 10 CFR 850, Chronic; Beryllium Disease Prevention Program; 10 CFR 851, Worker Safety and Health Program; 10 CFR 835, Occupational; Radiation Protection Program; 10 CFR part 1046, Medical, Physical Readiness, Training, and Access Authorization Standards for Protective Force Personnel; 10 CFR part 602, Epidemiology and Other Health Studies Financial Assistance Program; 10 CFR part 1017, Identification and Protection of Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, and 10 CFR part 1045, Nuclear Classification and Declassification. Pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act, 5 U.S.C. 553(b)(3)(B), DOE finds good cause that notice and public comment procedures are unnecessary for this rule given that it is making purely clerical updates to align the titles with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Energy Act of 2020. |
