Abstract: This rulemaking would align PHMSA regulations (at 49 CFR 107.335 and 190.293) governing criminal referrals with recent DOT policies implementing a 2018 DOT Office of Inspector General (OIG) audit recommendation calling for revision of Operating Administrations' regulations and procedures to provide for direct referral to the OIG of actual or potential criminal activity identified by PHMSA employees. | |
