Title: Freedom of Information Act Regulation Amendments
Abstract: This rule would update CNCS's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) regulations found at 45 CFR part 2507 in accordance with the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016. The regulation will update definitions (e.g., for record, representative of the news media), reflect the option to submit requests through CNCS’s FOIA email address or FOIA.gov, and reflect the online availability of many agency records, including those covered by the formalization of The Rule of Three, to which CNCS adheres. This rule would also bring its fees into alignment with current agency costs.
