Title: Framework Action: Modifications to the Gulf of Mexico Vermilion Snapper Overfishing Limit, Acceptable Biological Catch, and Annual Catch Limits | |
Abstract:
The proposed rule would implement a framework action developed by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (Council) to modify the overfishing limit (OFL), acceptable biological catch (ABC), and annual catch limit (ACL) for the Gulf vermilion snapper stock consistent with recommendations from the Council’s Scientific and Statistical Committee. The proposed rulewould increase the OFL from 3.58 million pounds whole weight (mp ww) to 8.6 mp ww. The ABC would increase from 3.11 mp ww to 7.27 mp ww, and the ACL would increase from 3.11 mp ww to 5.4525 mp ww for the years 2022-2025. |
