Title: Marine Mammal Protection Act List of Fisheries for 2023
Abstract:

The Marine Mammal Protection Act requires that NMFS evaluate U.S. fisheries annually and classify fisheries based on the extent of mortality or serious injury of marine mammals caused by each fishery. The List of Fisheries does not impose any regulatory changes on a fishery. The proposed rule makes changes to the classification of certain fisheries, the list of marine mammals incidentally killed or injured in fisheries, the number of vessels/persons currently in each fishery, and other administrative changes for the 2023 List of Fisheries.
