This action would change the golden tilefish fishing year to match the calendar year, set the maximum duration of multi-year specifications to match the stock assessment schedule, and set specifications for golden tilefish for the 2022-2024 fishing years. This action would change the date of the fishing year from November 1 to January 1. This would reduce the administrative burden of managing the golden tilefish Individual Fishing Quota fishery and potentially reduce recoverable costs. This action would also modify the annual specifications process, so that they could be set for the maximum number of years needed to be consistent with the Northeast Region Coordinating Council (NRCC) approved stock assessment schedule. The new specifications will also result in a 13 percent increase in quota.
