Title: Yaw Maneuver Conditions--Rudder Reversals
Abstract:

This rulemaking would incorporate a new load condition into 14 CFR part 25. The new load condition would be performance-based and would require applicants to demonstrate the integrity of the airplane structure, including its vertical stabilizer(fin), in the presence of pilot-commanded rudder pedal reversals. Adopting the new load condition would protect the airplane from excessive loads on the vertical stabilizer due to pilot-commanded rudder pedal reversals.
