Abstract:
This rulemaking would amend the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR parts 171-180) by adopting a number of provisions that will modernize and streamline the HMR to better clarify PHMSA regulations, as well as support our safety mission. In addition, this rulemaking would address a number of petitions for rulemaking submitted by hazardous materials transportation stakeholders that will improve the HMR through updates to reflect the latest industry best practices and the use of new technologies. |
