Title: ●Forest and Grassland Climate Resilience
Abstract:

The purpose of this ANPR is to invite public feedback and tribal consultation on the following question: Climate change and related stressors are resulting in increasing impacts with rapid and variable rates of change on national forests and grasslands. How should the Forest Service adapt current policies to protect, conserve, and manage the national forests and grasslands for climate resilience, so that the Agency can provide for ecological integrity and support social and economic sustainability over time?

This ANPR builds on ongoing work to implement section 2 of Executive Order 14072, Strengthening the Nation’s Forests, Communities, and Local Economies, including input received from Tribal consultation and public comment on the recent Request for Information (RFI) on mature and old-growth forest definition, identification, and inventory. This rulemaking tackles the climate crisis.
