Title: Streamlining Environmental Reviews, Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act (FR-6305) | |
Abstract:
HUD proposes to implement a portion of section 209 of the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act (Economic Growth Act) that added section 38 to the United States Housing Act of 1937 (1937 Act) to reduce administrative burden and exempt small public housing agencies (PHAs) from applicable environmental review requirements with respect to a development or modernization project having a total cost of not more than $100,000. In accordance with section 38 of the Economic Growth Act, HUD is also streamlining procedures for environmental reviews of small PHAs development and modernization projects having a total cost of more than $100,000, scattered site dispositions, and the removal of Declarations of Trust without dispositions. Finally, as part of its efforts to reduce administrative burdens, HUD also proposes to implement these streamlined environmental procedures for all PHAs. |
