Title: Authorization of Electronic Notice in Claims Under Laws Administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs | |
Abstract:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is proposing to amend its adjudication regulations to implement provisions of the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act of 2022, Public Law 117-168 (PACT Act). VA is proposing how to obtain a claimant’s election to opt-in to receive electronic notifications, how to revoke this option, and how electronic notification will be administered to eligible claimants. (Compensation, Pension, Insurance, Fiduciary, Veteran Readiness & Employment, Loan Guaranty, and Education). The proposed amendments in this regulation are in accordance with the President’s priorities to address toxic exposure. They also improve service delivery, customer experience, and reduce administrative burdens for those accessing public benefits and services. |
