Title: ●Commemorative Plaques and Urns | |
Abstract:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposes to revise its regulations to implement new statutory authority to furnish commemorative urns and commemorative plaques for certain veterans whose cremated remains are not interred. This proposed rule is necessary to administer the new benefit, which was authorized by the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 (The Act). These amendments are in accordance with the President’s priorities that improve service delivery, customer experience, and reduce administrative burdens for those accessing public benefits and services. |
