Title: Background and Licensing 
Abstract:

The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC or Commission) intends to propose new regulations clarifying the Commission’s authority to conduct background investigations, as necessary, under 25 U.S.C. Section 2706 of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA). This action also would clarify IGRA’s requirement that the Commission safeguard the integrity of the Indian gaming industry by specifying who may be subject to a background investigation and establishing procedures for conducting one.
