Title: ●Noncompetitive Appointment of Certain Military Spouses | |
Abstract:
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is amending its career and career conditional employment regulations to implement section 1111 of Pub. L. 117-263, John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. This requires OPM to issue regulations extending the eligibility criteria for any spouse married to an active-duty military member through December 31, 2028. The intended effect of the authority is to increase hiring of military spouses in the Federal government; and removes previous agency reporting requirement from Pub. L. 115-232. |
