Title: Ensuring Equal Treatment for Faith-Based Organizations in SBA's Loan and Disaster Assistance Programs | |
Abstract:
On January 19, 2021, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA or Agency) proposed a new rule that addressed five regulatory provisions related to the eligibility of certain faith-based organizations to participate in certain SBA business loan and disaster assistance programs. To the extent that these regulatory provisions were not aligned with applicable law, the rule proposed to remove these provisions from SBA’s regulations. After further legal review and review of the comments received, SBA will either finalize the previously proposed rule with modifications based on comments received and, in a manner consistent with the requirements of logical outgrowth, or withdraw and replace the previously proposed rule with an alternative proposed rule consistent with applicable law. |
