Title: ●TRICARE Clarification of Medical Necessity and Other Program Requirements | |
Abstract:
The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs issues this proposed rule to clarify existing TRICARE program requirements for medical benefit coverage. TRICARE program coverage of medically necessary care is derived from a comprehensive reading of various sections of the governing statutes and regulations. To aid the public in understanding and applying these authorities, this rule will bridge the various provisions for the reader to comprehend the evidentiary threshold a potential benefit must achieve in order for TRICARE to cost-share the benefit. The ultimate goal of this proposed rule is to seamlessly convey TRICARE’s existing framework for determining whether a potential benefit may be covered. |
