Title: ●Processing of Civil Rights Discrimination Complaints in Public Programs and Activities of the Social Security Administration
Abstract:

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has used regulations promulgated by our former parent agency, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that address the processing of civil rights complaints alleging disability discrimination.  See 45 CFR parts 84 and 85.  We propose to issue our own regulations which would prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability, race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, or retaliation in any programs or activities conducted by SSA. These regulations would also set forth the process by which a member of the public can submit a civil rights complaint alleging discrimination.
