Title: District of Columbia Educational Good Time Credit | |
Abstract:
In this document, the Bureau of Prisons (Bureau) finalizes procedures for awarding educational good time credit consistent with the D.C. Code for offenders in Bureau institutions or Bureau contract facilities, pursuant to the National Capital Revitalization and Self-Government Improvement Act of 1997, Pub. L. 105-33, 11201, 111 Stat. 251, 734 (1997) (codified at D.C. Code 24-101) ("Act”). This Act transferred custody of D.C. Code offenders” to the Bureau, so as to conform with D.C. law regarding the award of educational good time credits,” the Bureau undertakes this rulemaking to ensure consistent application of that provision among those D.C. inmates in our custody who committed their crimes prior to August 5, 2000. |
