Title: Energy Conservation Standards for Fans and Blowers
Abstract:

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) initiated a rulemaking to consider initial energy conservation standards for fans and blowers. Previously, DOE determined that fans and blowers qualify as a covered equipment under Part A-1 of Title III of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended.  In the notice of proposed rulemaking, DOE propose energy conservation standards for two categories of fans and blowers: air circulating fans and fans and blowers that are not air circulating fans. DOE has tentatively concluded that the proposed standards represent the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible and economically justified, and would result in the significant conservation of energy.
