Title: Protection of Stratospheric Ozone: Standards Related to Applications of Ozone-Depleting Substances as Feedstock and Process Agents and Other Updates
Abstract: The United States has already phased out nearly all production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances (ODS). This action considers new regulation related to the remaining excepted production and use of ODS for use as a feedstock and process agents. This action will propose to set emission standards for these applications and establish related recordkeeping and reporting requirements. This action will also propose to streamline some existing regulatory requirements, including the petition process for import of used HCFCs for fire suppression purposes, the advance notification requirements for import of ODS (such as for transformation), and make other updates to the ODS phaseout program. This proposed rulemaking is expected to control emissions, which would benefit the environment and human health.
