Title: Labeling Requirements for Alternative Fuels and Alternative-Fueled Vehicles | |
Abstract:
On October 26, 2023, as part of the systematic review of all Commission rules, the Commission initiated a periodic review of the Alternative Fuel Rule (or Labeling Requirements for Alternative Fuels and Alternative-Fueled Vehicles Rule) by publishing a notice seeking public comments on the effectiveness and impact of the Rule. 88 FR 73549 (Oct. 26, 2023). The Rule, which became effective on November 20, 1995, requires disclosure of appropriate cost and benefit information to enable consumers to make reasonable purchasing choices and comparisons between nonliquid alternative fuels as well as alternative-fueled vehicles. The public comment period closed on December 26, 2023. |
