Title: 2025-2026 Harvest Specifications and Management Measures for the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery | |
Abstract:
Every other year, the Pacific Fishery Management Council makes recommendations to set biennial allowable harvest levels for Pacific Coast groundfish, and recommends management measures for commercial, recreational, and tribal fisheries that are designed to achieve those harvest levels consistent with the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery Management Plan. For the 2025-26 biennium, the Pacific Fishery Management Council has recommended: (1) Harvest specifications, including overfishing limits, acceptable biological catches, and annual catch limits; and (2) Management measures to achieve those specifications. The specifications and management measures that would be established by this action would be in effect from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026. The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) would implement this rulemaking under the authority of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, 16 U.S.C. 1801 et seq. This action is being taken as a result of substantial public engagement through the Pacific Fishery Management Council. |
