Title: ●Fisheries Off West Coast States; West Coast Salmon Fisheries; Approving the Rebuilding Plan for the Overfished Queets River Spring/Summer Chinook Salmon Stock | |
Abstract:
This action will propose approval of a rebuilding plan for the Queets River spring/summer Chinook salmon stock. In 2023, NMFS determined that this stock was overfished. NMFS notified the Pacific Fishery Management Council of this determination on October 13, 2023. The Council’s Salmon Technical Team is developing a rebuilding plan for Council consideration and the Council expects to adopt a rebuilding plan in November 2024 to recommend to NMFS. The rebuilding plan approved by NMFS will be used in the development of annual management measures for ocean salmon fisheries until NMFS determines that the overfished stock is rebuilt. |
