Title: Privacy Act of 1974; Implementation (Military Human Resource Records, DoD-0020) | |
Abstract:
The Department of Defense is publishing a final rule to exempt the Military Human Resource Records, DoD-0020 system of records from certain provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. This rule proposes to exempt certain portions of the Military Human Resource Records, DoD-0020 from specific provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974, including 5 U.S.C. 552a(c)(3), (d)(1)-(4), (e)(1), (e)(4)(G), (H), and (I), and (f) pursuant to exemptions 5 U.S.C. 552a(k)(1) and (k)(7) of the Privacy Act. The proposed exemptions aim to protect classified national security information and prevent disclosure of information that could compromise the identity of confidential sources who may have otherwise not provided information to assist the government. |
