Title: Privacy Act of 1974; Implementation (Counterintelligence Investigations and Collection, DoD-00XX) 
Abstract:

The Department of Defense proposes to exempt the Counterintelligence Investigations and Collection system of records from certain provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. This rule proposes to exempt Counterintelligence Investigations and Collection, from 5 U.S.C. 552a(c)(3); (d)(1), (2), (3) and (4); (e)(1); (e)(4)(G), (H) and (I); and (f) of the Privacy Act, pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552a(k)(1), (k)(2), and (k)(5). The proposed exemptions aim to prevent disclosure of classified national security information, investigory material compiled for law enforcement purposes, and employment suitability determinations.  Certain requirements of the Privacy Act may interfere with the effective execution of these activities.
