Abstract:
This rule will exempt USNA Applicants, Candidates, and Midshipmen Records from certain provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. This rule will exempt USNA Applicants, Candidates, and Midshipmen Records from 5 U.S.C. 552a(c)(3); (d)(1)-(4), (e)(1), (e)(4)(G), (e)(4)(H), and (I), and (f) of the Privacy Act, pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552a(k)(5),(k)(6),and (k)(7). The proposed exemptions aim to prevent disclosure of classified national security information, investigory material compiled for law enforcement purposes, employment suitability determinations, and prevent disclosure of information that could compromise the identity of confidential sources who may have otherwise not provided information to assist the government. |
