Title: Wildlife and Fisheries; Clean Vessel Act Grant Program | |
Abstract:
This proposed rule would update regulations that tell States how to apply for and receive grants under the Clean Vessel Act (CVA) program. The program provides funds for States to install facilities for boaters to dispose of septic waste from vessels with holding tanks, and to provide information and education on the use, location, and benefits of pump-out facilities. FWS hosted seven open forum discussions in 2022 and two in 2023 that included more than 100 members of the CVA community of practice (CoP) sharing their thoughts and experiences on CVA. In October 2023, FWS invited the CVA CoP to review draft proposed regulations and provide comments. FWS has considered all reports, applicable documents and research, and internal and partner engagement from 2008 through 2023 in developing these proposed regulations. |
