Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Review of West Indian Manatee | |
Abstract:
FWS will reassess the listing status of the West Indian manatee (Trichechus manatus), a marine mammal listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The status determination for this species will be based on the best available information as of the time of publication. Based on the reassessment, FWS may propose to reclassify the species or revise the listed entity. This marine mammal is found along the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts, throughout the Caribbean, and as far south as Brazil’s Atlantic coastline. |
