DOJ/DEA RIN: 1117-AB60 Publication ID: Fall 2024
Title: Providing Controlled Substances to Ocean Vessels, Aircraft, and Other Entities
Abstract:

DEA proposes to revise existing regulations regarding the dispensing of controlled substances to ocean vessels, aircraft, and other entities in response to increased inquiries received from the industry and the public.

DEA published an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) to obtain information and feedback regarding the procurement of controlled substances by a medical officer for emergency kits on board ocean vessels, aircraft, and certain other entities. Through this ANPRM, DEA gained a better understanding of the industry's current needs and practices.
