Title: ●Exchange Visitor Program – College and University Students, Academic Training | |
Abstract:
The Department proposes to amend the duration of academic training in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) occupational fields; to provide that exchange visitors in the College and University Student category (STEM or otherwise) can be eligible for up to 36 months of Academic Training in their field of academic study when they matriculate to a higher academic degree level; to clarify that academic training can be with or without compensation; to provide approval authority for Alternate Responsible Officers to authorize academic training and student employment; to clarify that in order to qualify for extended STEM academic training the student’s most current field of study must be in a STEM field; and to clarify the information sponsors must verify and include in the student’s academic training SEVIS record. |
