Title: ●Advanced Passenger Information for Rail | |
Abstract:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is proposing to require rail carriers to transmit advance electronic data to CBP for any individual (crew and passenger) arriving in or departing from the United States on board a train. The rail carrier would be required to transmit a notice of arrival or departure, as applicable, for the train and manifest information for each individual who will cross the U.S. border while on board the train. This rule is intended to enhance security while facilitating legitimate travel on board trains. |
