Abstract:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is proposing trequire rail carriers to transmit advance electronic data to CBP for any individual (crew and passenger) arriving in or departing from the United States on board a trainThe rail carrier would be required to transmit a notice of arrival or departure, as applicable, for the train and manifest information for each individual who will cross the U.S. border while on board the train.  This rule is intended to enhance security while facilitating legitimate travel on board trains
