Title: ●Energy Efficiency Standards for the Design and Construction of New Federal Low-Rise Residential Buildings Baseline Standards Update | |
Abstract:
Pursuant to provisions of the Energy Conservation and Production Act (ECPA), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is updating efficiency standards for new federal buildings and major renovations based on updated editions of the national model energy code for residential buildings, the International Code Council's International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). This rule updates the baseline Federal residential standard to be consistent with the latest edition of the IECC, the 2024 edition, which was published in August 2024. A notice of proposed rulemaking is not required for this rule because it is a rule pertaining to public property, see 5 U.S.C. 553. DOE previously updated this standard under RIN 1904-AD56 which established the current standards based on the 2021 IECC (87 FR 19595). |
