Title: ●Energy Efficiency Standards for New Federal Commercial and Multi-Family High-Rise Residential Buildings Baseline Standards Update | |
Abstract:
Pursuant to provisions of the Energy Conservation and Production Act (ECPA), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is updating efficiency standards for new federal buildings and major renovations based on an updated edition of the national model energy code for commercial buildings ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1. This rule updates the baseline Federal commercial and multi-family high-rise residential standards to be consistent with the latest edition of Standard 90.1, the 2022 edition, which was published in January 2023. A notice of proposed rulemaking is not required for this rule because it is a rule pertaining to public property, see 5 U.S.C. 553. DOE previously updated this standard under RIN 1904-AE44, which established the current standard based on the Standard 90.1-2019 (87 FR 20267). |
