Title: Revisions to Select Microbial and Disinfection Byproducts (MDBP) Rules | |
Abstract:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is evaluating whether to propose revisions to the microbial and disinfection byproducts (MDBP) rules, as authorized under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), to further improve public health protection from MDBPs in drinking water or to reduce the regulatory burden while maintaining or improving public health protection. In May 2022, the EPA initiated a working group under the National Drinking Water Advisory Council on potential MDBP rule revisions. The EPA received recommendations from the NDWAC in late 2023 and is considering them as it evaluates potential regulatory revisions. |
