Abstract:
This rulemaking will propose to amend 49 CFR part 563 to add additional event trigger thresholds and data elements to allow the Agency and external safety researchers greater ability to assess the safety data and crash dynamics of vehicles equipped with emerging technologies, including full and partial vehicle automation systems, with particular focus on systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). |
