Title: Implementation of Changes to Reflect Advanced Reactor Export Licensing Considerations [NRC-2022-0072] | |
Abstract:
This rulemaking would amend the NRC’s regulations to clarify that 10 CFR Part 110 also applies to especially designed or prepared equipment, components, and substances associated with advanced reactors. The purpose of this rulemaking action is to ensure that the NRC is in a position to license the export of the materials, substances, and equipment associated with advanced reactors in a predictable and efficient manner, in order to reduce regulatory uncertainties associated with the export of these new technologies. The recommended clarifying changes incorporate advanced reactor concepts into the NRC’s existing regulations in 10 CFR Part 110, which govern the export of nuclear reactor equipment and material. |
