FWS will make listing determinations for the Dukes' skipper (Euphyes dukesi calhouni) and Palatka skipper (sawgrass skipper) (Euphyes pilatka klotsi) under the Endangered Species Act. These butterflies are found in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. We will also propose to designate critical habitat for the species, if prudent and determinable. These species status determinations are included in a multi-species settlement agreement where the court requires completion of 12-month findings under section 4 of the Endangered Species Act for 76 species by the end of fiscal year 2029. The court order does not provide specific dates for each species but requires completion of a minimum number of actions in each fiscal year. These actions count toward the minimum required number of 12-month findings to comply with the court's order.
