| Title: ●Migratory Bird Subsistence Harvest in Alaska; Harvest Regulations for Migratory Birds in Alaska | |
|
Abstract:
In a co-management process with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and Alaska Native representatives, FWS annually reviews the regulations governing the subsistence harvest of migratory birds in Alaska. These regulations allow for the take of migratory birds for subsistence uses during times of the year in which the sport hunting of migratory birds is prohibited. If the 2025 review process indicates that changes to the regulations are necessary to ensure the conservation of migratory birds, then FWS will conduct rulemaking that will be effective for the 2026 subsistence season. Otherwise, no rulemaking will commence under this RIN in 2025. |
