FISHERMEN IN THE NORTHEAST REGION WANTING TO PARTICIPATE IN SPECIFIED CONTROLLED FISHERIES MUST APPLY FOR PERMITS. INFORMATION COLLECTED IS REQUIRED FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MANAGEMENT MEASURES, AND IS ALSO USED FOR ENFORCEMENT OF REGULATIONS AND DISSEMINATION OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION PERMIT HOLDERS.
