THE MINING LAW OF 1872 (30 U.S.C. 21-54) REQUIRES THE ISSUANCE OF A MINERAL PATENT WHERE THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW HAVE BEEN MET AND A MINERAL PATENT APPLIED FOR. A MINERAL SURVEY OF THE MINING CLAIM(S) MUST BE SUBMITTED AS PART OF THE MINERAL PATENT APPLICATION. FORM 3860-5 IS AN APPLICATION FOR THE SURVEYING BY AN AUTHORIZED U.S. MINER SURVEYOR.
