Abstract:
As discussed with OMB, EPA is requesting a short renewal of this currently approved Information Collection Request (ICR). The submitted ICR package is unchanged from that currently approved. This extension will provide additional time to allow EPA to finish working on a restructure of the ICR and related improvements to the electronic forms and instructions, and consult with stakeholders and OMB on the corresponding adjustments to the burden estimates. The ICR is necessary to continue ongoing activities that are required in order to ensure the collection of necessary data to assess whether the continued registration of an existing pesticide causes an unreasonable adverse effect on human health or the environment. For the programs covered by the ICR, the Agency issues a Data Call-in (DCI) to collect the required information to support the statutorily mandated pesticide reviews. The programs and DCI activities represented in this ICR share a common statutory authority, Section 3(c)(2)(B) of FIFRA, which authorizes EPA to require pesticide registrants to generate and submit data to the Agency, when such data are needed to maintain an existing registration of a pesticide.
