Abstract:
THE NAT. FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM AUTH. PL 90-448 '68, AND EXPANDED BY PL 93-234, '73 PROVIDES LOW-COST, FEDERALLY SUBSIDIZED FLOOD INSURANCE FOR EXISTING PROPERTIES EXPOSED TO FLOOD RISK. IN RETURN, COMMUNINITIES ENACT AND ADMINISTER CONSTRUCTION SAFEGUARDS TO ASSURE THAT NEW FLOOD PLAIN CONSTRUCTION WILL BE BUILT TO ELIMINATE OR MINIMIZE FUTURE FLOOD DAMAGE. THESE VARIOUS INSURANCE FORMS PROVIDE FOR THE PROVIDE FOR THE CONTINUED WIDESPREAD AVAILABILITY OF POLICIE
