MONTHLY STATISTICS ON NUMBER OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS AND HOUSING UNITS AUTHORIZED BY PERMIT OR DEMOLISHED ARE COLLECTED FROM 8,500 PLACES. AN ADDITIONAL 7,500 ARE CANVASSED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. DATA ARE ALSO USED AS INPUT FOR MEASURING HOUSING STARTS IN PERMIT AREAS.
