Abstract:
THE MINE INFORMATION SUPPLEMENT CANVASS (FORM 6-1017-A) USED FOR THE MINERAL INDUSTRIES RELATES DIRECTLY TO RESOURCE PLANNING. THE BUREAU OF MINES REQUEST DATA ANNUALLY FROM MINE PRODUCERS ON MATERIAL HANDLED, CRUDE ORE TREATED, AND CRUDE ORE SHIPPED DURING THE YEAR, TOGETHER WITH INFORMATION OR EXPLANATION AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AND MINING METHODS. THE DATA OBTAINED FROM THIS SURVEY ARE USED BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS
