Abstract:
SECTION 202(B) AND(C) OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY ACT PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF MONTHLY BENEFITS TO THE WIFE OR HUSBAND OF AN INSURED INDIVIDUAL RETIRED BECAUSE OF OLD AGE OR DISABILITY. COMPLETION OF THE FORM ALLOWS FOR EXPEDITIONS PROCESSING OF THE SPOUSE'S CLAIM IN THE ABSENCE OF AN OFFICIAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.
