THE NSF ACT OF 1950, AS AMENDED, AUTHORIZES AND DIRECTS NSF TO COLLECT, INTERPRET AND ANALYZE DATA ON THE AVAILABILITY AND CURRENT NEED OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL PERSONNEL RESOURCES IN THE U.S. AND TO PROVIDE A SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR THE FORMULATION OF SCIENCE POLICY. The following is a summary of the topics, regarding the proposed collection of information, that the certification covers:
