CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS FILE FROM 1023 TO APPLY FOR EXEMPTION FROM FEDERAL INCOME TAX AS BEING DESCRIBED IN IRC SECTION 501(C)(3). THOSE ORGANIZED AFTER OCTOBER 9, 1969, ALSO FILE IT TO NOTIFY IRS OF INTENT TO APPLY (AS REQUIRED BY IRC SECTION 508).
